Maintenance and upkeep of industrial robots

The maintenance and upkeep of industrial robots include the following points:

 swinmingarmrobot

1. General maintenance

1) Cleaning robot arm

Regularly clean the base and arms of the robotic arm; High pressure cleaning equipment can be used, but direct spraying onto the robotic arm should be avoided; If the robotic arm has protection such as grease film, remove it as required. (Strong solvents such as acetone should be avoided, plastic protection should be avoided, and to prevent static electricity, non conductive surfaces such as spraying equipment, hoses, etc. must be wiped with wet or damp cloth. Do not use dry cloth.)

2) Cleaning and maintenance of hollow wrists

According to the actual situation, the hollow wrist needs to be cleaned frequently to avoid the accumulation of dust and particles. It cannot afford to use pompons and clean cloth for cleaning. After wrist cleaning, a small amount of Vaseline or similar substances can be added to the wrist surface, which will be more convenient for cleaning in the future.

3) Regular inspection

Check for oil leakage; Check if the gear clearance is too large; Check if the cables between the control cabinet, blowing unit, process cabinet, and robotic arm are damaged.

4) Inspection of fixing bolts

The fastening bolts and clamps used to secure the robotic arm to the foundation must be kept clean and must not come into contact with corrosive liquids such as water, acid or alkali solutions. If the anti-corrosion protective layer such as the galvanized layer or paint is damaged, the relevant parts need to be cleaned and coated with anti-corrosion paint.

2. Axle braking test

During operation, the brake of each axis motor will wear normally. In order to determine whether the brake works normally, it must be tested at this time.

Test method: Check the brake of each axis motor as described below.

1) Run the manipulator shaft to the corresponding position, where the total weight and all loads of the Robotic arm reach the maximum (maximum static load);

2) Motor power outage;

3) Check whether all shafts are maintained in their original positions;

If the mechanical arm still does not change position when the motor is powered off, then the braking torque is sufficient. You can also manually move the robotic arm to check if further protective measures are needed. When the mobile robot comes to an emergency stop, the brake will help to stop, which may cause wear and tear. Therefore, repeated testing is required during the lifespan of the machine to verify whether it maintains its original capabilities.

3. System lubrication and refueling

1) Lubrication and oiling of shaft and gear pairs

Ensure that the robot and related systems are turned off and in a locked state. Squeeze a small amount (1 gram) of grease into each nozzle, lubricate the auxiliary gear grease nozzle and each gear grease nozzle one by one, and do not inject too much to avoid damaging the seal.

2) Hollow wrist lubrication and refueling

There are 10 lubrication points for a hollow wrist, and only a few drops of lubricant (1 gram) are required for each grease fitting. Do not inject excessive lubricant to avoid damaging the wrist seal and internal sleeve.

4. Check the oil level in each gearbox

The positions of the oil filling holes on each axis are different, and targeted inspections are required. Some need to be rotated and in a vertical state before opening the cover for inspection.

5. Maintenance cycle (time interval can be adjusted appropriately based on environmental conditions, robot operating hours, and temperature)

1) Normal maintenance frequency: 1 time/day;

2) Axle braking test: once per day;

3) Lubrication of 3-axis auxiliary gears and gears: once/1000H;
